David works as a fitter in the Huntly East Underground Coal Mine. When people ask
about his job he says its the three "D's" - dirty, dark and dangerous!!
When he's not at work or working on projects around the house you'll probably
find him
hunting, scuba diving, fishing, snow or water skiing, riding a motorbike,
driving a bulldozer, watching or coaching the kids at rugby or athletics or just enjoying the outdoors !!
Sheryl is a busy midwife and
mum of three so she doesn't have
much spare time but when she does her interests include computers & the internet,
designing web pages, gardening, home
renovation, travel,
reading, cooking, sewing & crafts and water or snow skiing.
Dylan
was born on the 25th of May 1994. He was in a hurry to be born and
has been in a hurry ever since !! You can read his
birth
story by clicking here. His favourite things to do are riding
his bike, motorbike and go-kart, hunting with his Dad, watching TV, playing
rugby and competing at athletics & swimming.
Shaun was born
at home on the 7th of October 1996. You can read his
birth
story by clicking here. He enjoys all the same things as his big brother and
especially enjoys being creative. Just like most younger brothers he
is always busy trying to keep up!
Celina was also born at home on the 1st of November 1998. You can read
her birth story by clicking here. She is a real little girl who
loves her dolls and tea parties but
is rough and tough enough to keep up with her big brothers - you never know when
you might find her up a tree in a pink tutu!
We live on a 2 acre lifestyle block in a small town called
Huntly which is in the North Island of New Zealand.
This is a photo of our home and property which is named 'Srathcroft' which is a
Scottish Gaelic word meaning 'small farm on low lying land by a river'. We
really love living on a small block of land and enjoy our gardens and growing our own organic
vegetables and fruit.
Our small farmyard includes some sheep, calves / cows, chickens, a pet
rabbit (named Koko)
This is an aerial photo of Huntly (on the right) shows our property in
the bottom right hand corner (highlighted in yellow). The river that runs
through Huntly is the Waikato (why-cat-o) and is the longest river in New
Zealand.
Huntly is about 1 hour south of New Zealand's largest city Auckland and 20 minutes north
of Hamilton.
